Cure Nailhouse invites visionary nail artists to submit for our artist residency, a first-of-its-kind residency redefining nail artistry as an ephemeral fine art practice. This residency provides a dedicated space for nail artists to experiment, refine their craft, and engage with a dynamic creative community at the intersection of fine art, beauty, and fashion.
Selected artists will push the boundaries of nail technology and treat nails paintings and sculpture while engaging in interdisciplinary dialogue, storytelling, and exhibition opportunities. Our residency offers both artistic freedom and professional growth, with access to specialized equipment, a stipend, and strategic amplification opportunities.

Cure Nailhouse is an experimental artist residency and studio that redefines nail technology as an artistic medium through education, craftsmanship, and an inclusive art, fashion, and beauty community.
Nailhouse, our creative studio aims to celebrate and uplift our nail artists in residence by providing material resources for ephemeral sculptures, interdisciplinary dialogue, and a hybrid exhibition space to elevate their practice.
Craft, our educational platform, unites established artists from diverse mediums with emerging nail artists in an interdisciplinary exchange. Through education, mentorship, licensing pathways, and masterclasses, participants refine their techniques and elevate their practice into a fine art form.

RESIDENCY DETAILS
Location: Cure Nailhouse, Detroit, MI
Residency Duration: Flexible durations, beginning July 2025
Deadline: Rolling applications, with priority consideration given to early submissions
Compensation: We offer a commission-based compensation structure with weekly payments, starting at 40%, based on experience.
WHO SHOULD SUBMIT?
We seek nail artists with a strong creative vision and a commitment to craftsmanship. Artists working in interdisciplinary practices, including 2D works, assemblage, and 3D sculptural works, are encouraged to submit. This residency is open to both emerging and established artists looking to develop their work in a highly curated, art-focused environment.
ELEGIBILITY
- Must be 18+ years old
- Open to local and national artists
- Must have demonstrated experience as a nail artist
- A professional manicurist license administered by the State of Michigan is required
ARTIST EXPECTATIONS
Resident artists will engage in hands-on artistic production, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Artists are expected to partner with collectors to create ephemeral works on nail canvases, such as hand-painted artwork, 3D elements, and the application of embellishments, and treatments. Key expectations include:
ART
Create custom nail art designs, including hand-painted artwork, 3D elements, and the application of nail embellishments.
FOOT BATHS
Provide relaxing foot baths utilizing specialized techniques and products to create an elevated experience of adornment and embellishment.
NAIL EXTENSIONS
Apply, maintain, and remove nail extensions (acrylics, gels, and other types).
COLLABORATION
Collaborate with art collectors to understand their nail care needs and preferences, providing professional advice on nail health, art design and direction.
SANITATION
Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition according to health and safety regulations.
DEEP KNOWLEDGE
Stay informed about new nail products, techniques, and industry trends to provide the art collector with the best options.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
Build and maintain strong relationships with collectors to cultivate a pipeline of supporters.

At Cure Nailhouse, we provide curated experiences rooted in care, adornment, and creative legacy. As a Host, you’re the first face our guests see and the thread that connects them to our artists, our space, and our vision.
You’ll play a key role in shaping the guest journey—from the moment they arrive to the final touchpoint. You’ll guide them through our sculptural offerings, introduce them to our artists in residence, and embody the tone and intention of the Cure brand every step of the way.

Float through the space, checking in with guests and anticipating needs

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
At Cure, we’re curating a cultural experience.
The Assistant Studio Manager is both conductor and curator: someone who leads with intention, moves with discernment, and cultivates beauty in both people and process. You’ll help shape how our studio looks, feels, and functions—holding space for artistry, systems, and a standard of care that reflects who we are and what we stand for. This is a creative management position for someone who knows how to move between details and vision, presence and process, softness and structure.
You’ll support both our artists in residence and hospitality team by helping to maintain the rhythm of daily operations while shaping long-term creative strategy. You’ll design experiences that are as intentional as they are beautiful, develop the people behind them, and build a guest experience that feels fluid, elevated, and deeply culturally rooted.

ASSISTANT STUDIO MANAGER REQUIREMENTS
STUDIO FLOW
Refine the guest journey from entry to exit—mapping touchpoints and ensuring an intuitive, intentional flow
GUEST EXPERIENCE
Collaborate on the design, development, and refinement of signature offerings (contours, immersions, etc.)
SOURCING
Source tools, materials, and products that align with Cure’s visual and sensory identity
SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE

FEEDBACK

ARTIST RECRUITMENT
Support artist recruitment, demos, and onboarding
SCHEDULING + WORKFLOWS
Supervise daily studio schedules, monitor flow, and manage coverage for both artists in residence and hospitality team.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Enforce team accountability regarding lateness, attendance, and adherence to House Rules
INVENTORY
Maintain studio-wide inventory and ordering systems for supplies and tools
COMMUNICATION
